We'd had beautiful weather for several days, so a lot of progress took place. But on Thursday we had a rainstorm go through, dropping lots of rain in a very short time. Although the crew had stapled up some plastic over the transition between the old house and the new addition, we still had water running out of the light fixture in the bedroom closet, soaking the carpet there and in an adjacent doorway. That part of the carpeting had to be cut out, which is no loss since all the carpeting will eventually be removed, but the light fixture no longer works. Hubby's closet had to be emptied and all his clothes are on a temporary closet rack in the spare bedroom.
Today the porches were framed in, and the gazebos got their roof framing as well.
The plumbing contractor installed the bathroom pipes and the upstairs shower stall. The elevator has been ordered, and the shaft is ready.
The house wrap went on today as well. The views from the upstairs windows are fabulous.
The roofing has been ordered, and the HVAC will soon be installed. Next week will be very busy.
